(This is going to be one of those Q&A columns of a metaphysical/new thought theme that relate to “mind, body & spirit”. We took questions from some friends just to start out but you can email yours to email@example.com .
Q. How does spiritual healing work? (JoAnne - Bakersfield)
A. There are many different types of healing techniques out there and each one of them would probably give a different answer. But from my discipline and education the focus is on understanding the truth about disease. Disease is an illusion based on our belief system. The energy of Higher Mind reveals the reality of perfect health. As one enters into that state of consciousness where they have a knowing that health is perfection and that disease is an illusion, then the manifestation of perfect health can take place. This can happen over a period of time or sometimes instantly and we call this a healing even though it is best to realize you are not actually “healing” because that would imply that disease is true and it is that belief we are trying to let go of.
Q. What is the best kind of meditation? (Maria, Shafter)
A. The best meditation is the one that works for you. The point to meditation is to quiet the noise within. This noise is the confusion of the “human” mind that keeps itself busy in order that the subconscious maintain control. When real quiet takes place often the one who is meditating can sense a place within which is speaking to them intuitively regarding their own Higher Self. Sometimes referred to as the “I AM” self, this state of consciousness is the doorway to revealing Oneness with Infinite Mind and can have a tremendous healing on the psyche of the individual. Everyone needs to take a time out for the part of them they deny most, the self that is at the root of who you really are.
Q. How do I become more spiritual? (Rick, Bakersfield)
A. This is a hard question to answer because each person must find his or her own path. But a sincere desire on the part of the Truth seeker is foremost in bringing this about. One must desire whether they want to socialize, attend occasional events or find a teacher who speaks directly to their needs spiritually. If one is open to some sort of path they will be drawn by their own spiritual self to lead them into situations where at some point they will come face to face with some sort of spiritual teaching which catches their attention. The saying: “When the student is ready the teacher appears” is truer than most people realize. And during this period of time where you find yourself sincerely searching you will gain a sense of inner knowing when you arrive at that place of learning and you will most likely make the necessary decisions regarding your esoteric education.
